Mindfulness is a skill. Like any skill, it can be learned, practiced, and carried with you for life.
I'm Simon, a certified MBSR instructor trained at Brown University's Mindfulness Center. I teach the same evidence-based method used in hospitals and research institutions worldwide — adapted for the pace of real life in Jakarta, Paris, and online.
Kalooban exists because I needed this myself. In 2019, mindfulness changed how I work, how I show up, and how I relate to the people around me. I built this to share that with others.
Whether you're a professional managing relentless pressure, a student navigating uncertainty, or simply someone looking to think more clearly — this is where you start.
About mbsr
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction is an intensive, experiential and evidence based 8-week program. During it, participants discover, and train in different mindfulness and movement meditation practices. It invites participants to make a practice their own and integrate what they learned into their daily lives.
Created in 1979 by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D., MBSR has over 40 years of research consistently demonstrating positive outcomes associated with increased self-awareness and emotional and attentional regulation.
How effective is mbsr?
Studies show that MBSR can reduce stress and help people relax. Studies of people who have type 2 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, heart disease, chronic pain, and other problems show that MBSR helped some people cope better with symptoms and improved their quality of life.
Research also shows that MBSR helped people sleep better and feel less anxious, and it helped ease depression symptoms. In some people, MBSR also helped improve blood sugar and blood pressure. 1, 2, 3
Taking part in MBSR has been linked to positive changes in the areas of the brain that affect how you pay attention, how you feel, and how you think.4
